John Moyle Memorial National Field Day

John Moyle Memorial National Field DayThe contest is run every year in memory of the late John Moyle who was a long term editor of the Wireless Weekly, (later Radio & Hobbies - later Radio Television & Hobbies) magazine from 1947 until his untimely death in 1965. Serving in the RAAF during WWII, he served with distinction and was responsible for a number of innovative solutions in keeping radio and radar equipment working under wartime operations and difficult working conditions.

The aim of the contest is to encourage and provide familiarisation with portable operation, and provide training for emergency situations.

The rules are therefore designed to encourage field operation.

The Field Day is to be held over the weekend of the 20 - 21 March, 2010 and will run from 0100 UTC on Saturday till 0059 Sunday.
